Market Basket

Yeah, you knew this post was coming....

Our lives right now are full of paperwork and official stamps.  Everything that gets completed, requires a stamp.  We are finding that official stamps are very, very important.  But, they make us tired (and hungry).  So the outdoor markets cheer us up.

This market is one of many, and it's held three or four days, each week.  It's about a 10 minute walk from our apartment, just along the bank of the river.  That's easy with empty bags, but a little harder when they're full.

The outdoor market's version of a prepared food section.

We ate some of these.  Not all of these, but some of them.  I could happily eat them all, though.

We have been delighted to find that, in Lyon, the outdoor market is by far the least expensive, freshest and most beautiful way to feed your clan.

I told Cora that this cheese smelled like Heaven, but not every kid loves smelly cheese.

Leo tires of shopping sooner than we do.  He can walk the market 10 minutes for each 2 hour period that I can.  So, he decided to watch the boats on the river while I continued my drooling stagger through veggie-town.

"Boats are more interesting than Zucchini"

Cora is learning the routine, nicely.

Leo was rewarded for his patience with a new game called, "Anatomy of a Moustache"

This is Leo's official French 'stamp'

Moments like these make "French Pledge Week, Part Deux" very, very worth it...

...and, because we are also here for the bread:

Two very nice baguettes.

And what coincidence I am sitting here having paella for breakfast.
( well, truth be told, toast with wild rice bread).
